The cat on the left drove his owners crazy until they got him another kitten to play with.
If you don’t have cats showing up at your door with little suitcases, as I do, you may want to go to a shelter to adopt one (or two).
Broward County Animal Care and Regulation in Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach is offering two cats for one adoption fee, $74.95, through September.
The adoption fee includes health exams, vaccinations, feline leukemia/AIDS tests and spaying or neutering, plus a county license.
The Fort Lauderdale facility is at 1870 S.W. 39th Street. Adoption hours are 1 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Pompano Beach facility is at 3100 NW. 19th Terrace (east of Powerline between Copans and Sample). Adoption hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
If you’ve adopted a kitten who just showed up, the Humane Society of Broward County is offering half-price neutering or spaying, $20 for females and $12.50 for males between 8 and 16 weeks old. Call 954-463-7729.
