When I dine out, I enjoy a glass of Riesling with dinner from time to time. But I do not enjoy paying the huge markup for the privilege. Enter GoBYO.com.
At GoBYO.com, you’ll find a list of restaurants that allow you to bring your own bottle of wine with you. Some charge a corkage fee, others don’t. Either way, it’s much cheaper than buying a bottle of wine at most restaurants’ rates.
As of now, GoBYO.com’s database includes various restaurants in Broward County, as well as various other metropolitan areas.
A few rules: In general, you shouldn’t bring a cheap wine, and you should make an effort to choose a bottle that’s not on the wine list. When you tip, factor in the cost of the bottle of wine to your calculations to properly compensate your server.
