This free event is all about socks. About 10,000 pairs. And they’ll happily accept more.
“We Socked It” is a rally for the effort sponsored by the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale North that brought in a pile of donated new white socks. The socks are going to be distributed to homeless adults and children.
The festivities, which includes cheerleaders, ice cream and the socks, is 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Cardinal Gibbons High School, 2900 NE 47th St., Fort Lauderdale.
Another drop off site for clean, new white socks, until Friday, is American National Bank, 4301 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale.
