Hip-hop, Hawaiian dance and lyrical are among the various dance styles featured at an assortment of free dance programs for kids and teens at Broward libraries.
The programs are in July, the same month as National Dance Day.
Some of the programs require early registration. They are featured on the website for Broward libraries. Here are some.
July 16, 23, 30 – Terrific Tuesday Hip-Hop, Lyrical and Cheer Dance Class with Miss Raquel, ages 7 and up, 6 to 7:30 p.m., North Lauderdale Saraniero Library
July 17, 24, 31 – Teen Dance Class, ages 12-18, 4 to 5:30 p.m.,Northwest Regional Library
July 24 – Get Fit with Ms. Kandyss, Rhythm Nation Dance Academy, ages 13 and up, Lauderdale Lakes Library
July 18, 25 – Toddler Time: Stories, music and dance for ages up to 2 ½ years, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Hollywood Library

July 22 – Family Science Fun Night with Geddy the Gecko. Geddy loves math, science, fast music, fast dancing and super-fast breakdancing! Audience participation welcomed, all ages, 6 to 7 p.m., African-American Research Library and Cultural Center
July 22 – Teen Zumba: Use dance moves for a fun workout, wear sneakers, teens, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Southwest Regional Library
August 3 – Summer Reading Program Grand Finale Performance: Hip-Hop, Lyrical and Cheer Dance Recital with Miss Raquel, 2 to 3 p.m., North Lauderdale Saraniero Library
