For a good deed, Pollo Tropical is offering a reward.
Participating Florida restaurants, which are most, are offering a free wrap for each used phone donated on March 14.
The cell phones, with batteries included, don’t need to be working. They are are refurbished for Women In Distress, an advocacy and assistance organization for domestic abuse situations.
The Handhelds for Handhelds project involves a free quesadilla wrap for each mobile phone donated.
To celebrate the new year, Pollo Tropical is introducing five new “handhelds” to eat on the go. To celebrate the launch of the new sandwiches, the restaurant is giving away free handhelds sandwiches in exchange for used handheld phones Monday, Jan. 11.
The Helping Handhelds Campaign will benefit Women in Distress.
To get two free handheld sandwiches, bring in an old cellphone (battery must be included) to participating Pollo Tropical locations.
