The fee for popular fireworks watching venue in Broward is  $1.50 before 7:30 p.m. After 7:30 p.m., the fee is $2.

Kids age 5 and younger are free.

Vista View Park in Davie is among the tallest areas in South Florida, and, based on the weather, may offer a panorama of fireworks displays in some other parts of Browad.

Refreshments are permitted. Various items and activities are prohibited, including glass containers, barbequing and fireworks.

  • Hollywood — Hometown Fourth of July 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Hollywood Beach, kids activities at Charnow Park 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Musical entertainment at the Hollywood Beach Theater 7 p.m. to 9  p.m. Fireworks at the beach at 9 p.m. Information about parking and trolleys on the website,  954-921-3404

The free Public Safety Expo is a family-friendly event that features a variety of displays and demonstrations from various police  and rescue units.

The free event is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 5 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel on State Road 7 in Hollywood, 954-327-7625

Highlights include the South East Police Motorcycle Rodeo and Swat Team, K9 and Coast Guard demonstrations. Police and military vehicles are on display

Several towns are offering festivities for St. Patrick’s Day, including Hollywood.

The free events in Hollywood include a festival at Hollywood Boulevard and 19th Avenue noon to 6 p.m. and a parade at 1 p.m. March 11. Parking in municipal garages is $10.

Music, food for sale and marching bands are among the highlights, 954-921-3404

The parade route is 21st Ave and Harrison Street north to Hollywood Boulevard, east to Young Circle, south to Harrison and back to 21st Avenue.

The March For Hunger 5K walk/run event is 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. March 3 on Hollywood beach.

Registration is $25  early and $35 the day of the event.

 Here’s a deal for folks who like wet, splashy recreational activities.

  Broward Parks and Recreation Department offers season tickets for  four water parks.

The deal saves money for those going to a particular water park more than eight times from March 10 to September 30.

 Prices for the tickets vary based on the park.

 The tickets do not include some extra fees that may apply, such as weekend and holiday entry fees into the regional parks which house the water parks.

The season tickets, also known as Find It All Multipupose Cards, are available at the participating parks.
Information about the water parks is featured on the Broward Parks web site.
