easter egg huntsHollywood is offering a free event that features spring and Easter activities for kids.

The events, which include an egg  hunt, marshmallow drop, tattoos, and pictures with the Easter Bunny are 9 a.m. to noon March 23.

For ages 3 to 5, an egg hunt is 10 a.m.

For ages 6 to 12, a marshmallow drop from a helicopter is 10:30 a.m.  The marshmallows gathered by participants may be traded for candy and prizes. Free popcorn and snow cones are offered.

The events are at Boulevard Heights Community Center, 6770 Garfield Street, Hollywood, 954-921-3404

paradeHollywood is featuring a St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival.

The float parade and other  events are March 10 on Hollywood Boulevard and Harrison Street.  The festivities are free, and official event parking is $10.

The parade is at  1 p.m. at 21st Ave and Harrison Street and travels north to Hollywood Boulevard,  east to Young Circle, south to Harrison Street and up to  21st Ave.

Entertainment includes Irish bands performing at noon for several hours at 19th Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard. Information is featured on the event website, 954-921-3404

The fee for popular fireworks watching venue in Broward is  $1.50 before 7:30 p.m. After 7:30 p.m., the fee is $2.

Kids age 5 and younger are free.

Vista View Park in Davie is among the tallest areas in South Florida, and, based on the weather, may offer a panorama of fireworks displays in some other parts of Browad.

Refreshments are permitted. Various items and activities are prohibited, including glass containers, barbequing and fireworks.
