Designing a NatureScape that is water efficient, energy efficient and attracts wildlife is the focus for the program 7 p.m. August 16. The program includes landscape-related information about native vegetation, improving the appearance of yards and boosting property values.

NatureScape Broward is offering a free event that focuses on environmentally friendly landscaping Saturday, Dec. 12, 9 a.m. to noon at Tequesta Trace Middle School, 1800 Indian Trace, Weston.

Highlights include tree give-aways, demonstrations, workshops, booths and music. Environmentally friendly landsaping offers such advantages as water savings, improved water quality and habitat for wildlife.

Tips and techniques for environmentally-friendly landscaping are featured during a free event offered by NatureScape Broward in Oakland Park.

The event is Saturday, Nov. 21, 9 a.m. to noon at Rickards Middle School, 6000 N.E. Ninth Avenue, Oakland Park.

The event include demonstrations about landscaping that conserves water and provides habitat for wildlife, environmental education booths, a native tree and plant giveaway, music, workshops and ladybug releases.
