amctheatersHere’s a nice movie ticket deal from Saveology: $5 for an AMC Silver Experience ticket.

There are some restrictions on how the ticket can be used: You can’t use it for movies the first two weeks after they are released, and there is a surcharge for 3-D, Imax and some other types of films.

But, if you’re planning just an ordinary night at the movies, the $5 AMC ticket will save you some bucks, since a movie ticket these days is about $9.50. It’s good at any AMC, AMC Showplace, Loews, Cineplex Odeon, Magic Johnson and and Star cinema in the United States.

With this offer, there is a limit of two tickets per household, and the vouchers must be used within 30 days.

This deal is good through Friday, Sept 30 or until it sells out.

Through Oct. 7, you can get a free 20-ounce Icee if you on a Friday.

yahoo-fangateYahoo Movies has partnered with Regal, United Artists & Edwards Theatres to treat you to 1 million bags of small popcorn.

The small popcorn is free, but hoop-jumping is required:

1) You will need to “like” Yahoo Movies on Facebook to get the deal.

2) When you get to the theatre, you’ll need to “check in” to get the deal, so you’ll need to enable location services on your phone. You’ve got two ways to do it: A) text “popcorn” to 35350 before you go, and they’ll send a link to the mobile site to your phone. Or you can go to http://popcorn.yahoo.net in your smartphone’s browser to get to the “check-in” prompts.

The promotion runs through Aug. 31, or until 1 million coupons have been redeemed. Unfortunately, there is no work-around for those of you without some type of smartphone device + a Facebook account.

FYI, don’t send yourself the coupon until you’re ready to use it. It’s good only until 8 a.m. on the day after it’s sent.

regal-discountGoldstar, which offers half-price entertainment tickets in selected U.S. cities, has a deal today that’s good anywhere: four movie tickets for $30. That’s just $7.50 per ticket.

The tickets are good at all Regal Cinemas, United Artists Theatres and Edwards Theatres nationwide. Unlike some of the discounted movie tickets we’ve seen, these are good for new movies, all times and all days, except for special events. There is a surcharge for IMAX and 3-D films.

The tickets have no expiration date.

To get the deal, sign up for GoldStar (it’s free) and order the Regal Entertainment Group Premiere Ticket 4-Pack for $30 (plus service fee).

GoldStar isn’t offering half-price entertainment tickets in Florida yet, but we hear they’re coming, so if you sign up you’ll be among the first to hear about discounts on concerts, comedy, sports and special events.
