Literary workshops, kids’ activities, and various types of visual and performing arts are among the highlights at  a free festival in northwest Broward.

Musicians, puppets and art exhibits are among the features.

The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  March 17 and March 18 on The Walk on University Drive, on the west side between 26th and 29th streets, 800-739-0517

The Jazz and Arts Frestival is a free event in Pompano Beach.

The event, featuring art exhibits and outdoor performances by jazz musicians,  is March 11 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tickets to Symphony of the Americas in Weston are available for $20 if purchased early.

At the door, tickets  are $30. 

The  tickets are for Symphony of the Americas Broadway Goes To the Movies March 17.

Tickets for students are $10 early or $15 at the event.

The free event includes ball drops Saturday at  7 p.m. — for the youngsters — and 12 a.m.

The Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department is presenting the music,  kids’ games and festivities at Esplanade and Southwest Second Street in the Himarshee area, 954-828-5363
