Free New Year’s Eve fest with lighted Anchor Drop

Fort Lauderdale is offering free New Year's Eve festivities including an outdoor street party.  Live music entertainment includes the Brass Evolution band. 

The Fort Lauderdale Orange Bowl Downtown Countdown will include its famous anchor drop and live music.

The fun in 2023 is 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. December 31 at Southwest Second Street and Southwest Fifth Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.

The event includes:

  • anchor drop
  • inflatable slides, face painting and games for kids  & families 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Kids New Years festivities at 7 p.m.
  • DJ entertainment
  • live bands 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Extasy will play at 5:45 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8:05 p.m. (45-minute sets) and Brass Evolution will play at 9:30 p.m., 10:40 p.m., 11:45 p.m. and midnight (after the countdown).
