For a fun evening out that's friendly for your wallet, direct yourself to downtown Pompano Beach, where you'll delight in entertainment, food trucks, and art displays indoors and outdoors as part of Old Town Untapped events. The events are usually 6 to 10 p.m. the first Fridays of the month, with some exceptions Entry is free.
Untapped events often include a display of a fire fountain with water spouts, lights and flames, weather permitting.
Old Town Untapped started as a monthly street festival celebrating craft brewers and the arts. But now the event is expanded, and most first Fridays you will find vendors, food trucks, live music, a DJ, craft beers, art and more.
The galleries at Bailey Contemporary Arts Center usually are open during the event. Docent-led tours are from 8 to 8:45 p.m. You can sign up for the tour here.
In 2024, performers include:
- January 5: The Heavy Pets, funked-up rock and roll. There will also be a preview of the Jazz Fest Pompano Beach at intermission by Yasmeen Metri.
- February 2: Joey Calderaio, reggae.
- March 1: Tand, rock, both originals and covers.
