We got to the bottom of the box and discovered we had a few more DVDs to give away in our Michael Jackson DVD contest.

The winners will receive a copy of the DVD “Michael Jackson: The Life of an Icon,” in the mail within two days.

The feature-length film includes all-new interviews by his mother Katherine Jackson and other friends and family members, plus never-before-seen family video footage and photos.

The feature-length film includes all-new interviews by his mother Katherine Jackson and other friends and family members, plus never-before-seen family video footage and photos.

The film was directed by Andrew Eastel and produced by David Gest.

Here’s how to enter to win a DVD:

  • Subscribe to our daily e-mail from Fort Lauderdale on the Cheap. If you already subscribe, proceed to step 2.
  • Send an email with your name and postal mailing address to miami27@miamiflonthecheap.com. Include the e-mail address with which you subscribe to our feed. We don’t share or even save the addresses, just use them to check for duplicate entries and verify entrants are South Florida residents. Plus, if you win, we’ll need to mail you the DVD. If you don’t include your mailing address and the e-mail address with which you subscribe to the daily feed and tell us which feed, your entry will be discarded.
  • Put DVD CONTEST in the subject line. This is important, because it routes your entry to the contest mailbox.
  • Enter by midnight Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Entrants must be 18 or older. One entry per household. Winners must be residents of Florida. The winners will be chosen via a random number generator from all valid entries.

20th-century-fox 20th Century Fox is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, and the movie company has invited us to the party by providing DVDs of movies to give away. We’re going to do it with a contest.

To enter, we want to share your love of Miami FL on the Cheap, Fort Lauderdale on the Cheap, Palm Beach on the Cheap, Florida Keys on the Cheap or Florida on the Cheap with at least five friends. You can share the love via e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, telephone or old-fashioned face-to-face conversation.

We’ve got four DVDs to give away:

  • Porky’s (2 copies), the 1982 film made in Fort Lauderdale about four high-school kids determined to lose their virginity.

It’s time for another contest!

We have several copies of the DVD of Season 1 of the NBC TV series “Parenthood” to give away. This DVD was just released today, Aug. 31.

Here’s the description of the show:

Parenthood introduces us to the very large, very colorful and imperfect Braverman family.  Single mother Sarah and her two children Amber and Drew moving back home with her parents Zeek and Camille. Sarah’s sister and complete antithesis, Julia, is a successful corporate attorney trying to juggle work and motherhood, alongside her stay-at-home husband, Joel. Executive producers are Ron Howard and Ron Grazer.

To enter our contest, we’re looking for a cheap tip in one of these categories:

  • Best cheap date
  • Best cheap happy hour
  • Best cheap place to take your kid
  • Best cheap hotel
  • Best cheap eats
  • Best thrift shop
  • Best cheap fun
  • Or, come up with your own “best cheap” tip in a category we haven’t thought of.

Your “best cheap” thing must be in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach or Monroe county.

The printable forms entitle buyers to up to $6 back on their purchases of one, two or three bottles.
